Rainy Day Monday…but then it got better !

Today started off as a cloudy, rainy morning, but things got better as time went on. By later in the afternoon it was warm and sunny. Very nice.

Jan got up around 9am, but I slept in a while longer, a good while actually.  But Jan like the ‘ME” time it gives her, and I’m perfectly happy to help out by sleeping late.

About 11:30 I talked to Michele Henry of Phoenix Commercial Paint, who was in the park and wanted to come by and check out the body work and repainting we want to get done on our rig while we’re here.

Most of the work is on the cargo bay doors, and after talking, we decided it will be easier for me to just take the doors off and bring them to her shop three or four at a time. So I’m going to take the first set over this Thursday.

After lunch, and fighting off a headache, I took some aspirin and went back to take a nap.

Then about 5 pm, Nick and Terry came over and we all drove up to Edwardsburg, MI to Lunker’s, one of the largest fishing, hunting and outdoor stores in the country. And they have a very popular restaurant there, as well.

I mean, where else can you get an Elk, Ostrich, or Buffalo Burger?

After dinner and back at the park about 8, we drove around among the rigs, checking out all our neighbors before saying our goodnights and heading in for the evening.

More tomorrow…

And now, thanks to Mr. Peabody and the WayBack Machine, you can check out our visit to the Bay of Fundy last year, in an episode entitled “Where else can you walk on the ocean floor?

Green Lies and Ham:
I do not like this Uncle Sam, I do not like his health care scam. I do not like these dirty crooks, or how they lie and cook the books. I do not like when Congress steals, I do not like their secret deals. I do not like this speaker, Nan , I do not like this ‘YES WE CAN.’ I do not like this spending spree, I’m smart, I know that nothing’s free. I do not like your smug replies, when I complain about your lies. I do not like this kind of hope. I do not like it, nope, nope, nope!   – Roni Samuels

Waiting with bated breath…

Getting up this morning we found from their blog that Nick and Terry were on their way to Elkhart today. So about 11:30 I called Nick and found they would be here about 2 pm.

And sure enough, they finally arrived a little before 2pm and got parked right next to us. After helping Nick get set up, mostly by standing around watching, and making snide comments, we talked for a while and then while Nick headed up to the office to check in, we said we’d see them for supper.

A little later Nick stopped by and dropped off a package for Jan from the office. Mister took control of the empty box since he loves boxes, especially ones he can get into.

He didn’t quite make it on this one, but he gave it a good try. He actually fell asleep this way.

A little after 4 Nick came over and said they were ready when we were, so about 4:30 we walked next door to their coach, and then ended up talking for a while longer before heading out to Mishawaka to eat at Famous Dave’s BBQ, one of our favorite BBQ places. And as usual we sat around and talked even more after we finished eating.

And then when we got back we went over to their rig and talked some more, at least until Jan started nodding off.

Are sensing a pattern here?

Anyway that was about it for the day.

Since we have a lot of new readers, I thought I’d let ya’ll take a look at our visit to Niagara Falls last year.

More tomorrow…
