Still Working . . .

Well, our Splendide washer/dryer is still working fine so far, both the thermal fuse repair and the door switch repair. We see how it goes.

I spent the morning and part of the afternoon setting up a new computer for a client, and also pulling some data off of an old HD for another client.

About 2:30 Jan and I headed out for errands, dinner, and some evening entertainment.

My first stop was at a client’s office to take care of some orders, and the best part, pick up a check. Then is was on to Home Depot, and then Lowe’s for some things for some of my ongoing projects.

Our next stop was by the house to pick our mail and say a quick ‘Hi’ to our son-in-law Lowell, and then on to Kroger’s for some lottery tickets. You can’t win if you don’t play.

For dinner we meet a few friends and fellow Alvin Opry patrons, at La Casita, a Mexican restaurant in the Friendswood area that we used to eat at a lot, but probably haven’t been back to in 20 years.

La Casita

Don’t know why, because it was really good tonight. We might have to put it back on our list.

On the way to Opry, since we had some extra time, we made a quick stop at the local Wal-Mart for a few things for a dish Jan wants to make.

We had some great singers at the Alvin Opry tonight, but it’s also nice to see some beginners like Zack Clifton.

Opry - Zack Clifton

At 9 years old, this was his first time on stage and he did a really good job. Local Opry’s like these are where a lot of famous singers get their start. Some day we may be able to say about Zack that we knew him when.

In contrast to Zack, we have Earl Epps, who looks and sounds like George Jones.

Another new singer who essentially did a on-stage audition was a young lady named Crystal.

She did a great job on “You ain’t woman enough to take my man”. Hope she’ll be back.

But the feature for the tonight’s show was Kevin Robinson.

This was our first time seeing him and we were really impressed. He has a great range and a really good voice. It didn’t hurt that he sang one of my favorites “Statue of a Fool” either.
