A Gut Feeling?

Jan and I had lunch at Twin Peaks once again, with Jan getting her usual Spicy Chipotle Chicken, with a cup of Tomato Basil soup.

Since they still haven’t brought back my Venison Chili with the Wedge Salad, I had the Green Chicken Chile and 1/2 a BLT, with Sweet Potato Fries.

Delicious as always, and of course there’s the ‘scenic views’.

The last week or so I’ve made good of Amazon’s Next Morning or Same Day Delivery options.

Last night a little before 11pm I placed a order that said it would be delivered this morning between 7am and 11am. It showed up a few minutes after 6am.

Then this morning I placed an order a few minutes after 10am, that said it would be delivered between 2pm and 6. It showed up about 3pm.

Very nice!

What part of ‘Follow The Science’ doe ‘A Gut Feeling’ come under?

FDA Advisory Panel ADMIT That Approving Moderna Boosters Was Not Based On Science: ‘It Was Just A Gut Feeling’

Members of the FDA’s vaccine-advisory panel supported Moderna’s booster dose even though the evidence for it was from a small study and had mixed results.

“It’s more a gut feeling rather than based on really truly serious data,” said Patrick Moore, a member of the committee and a professor of molecular genetics and biochemistry at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. “The data itself is not strong, but it is certainly going in the direction that is supportive of this vote.”

In related news, the founders of Moderna just made their debuts on Forbes’ list of the 400 richest Americans.

So first it was the lobsters.

Chinese media: Maine lobster shipment was ‘Pandora’s box,’ spreading covid.

Reports appearing across China’s tightly controlled media suggest the origin of covid-19 in the country came in 2019 via a shipment of lobster from Maine.

“In November 2019, a shipment of frozen Maine [lobster] arrived in Wuhan, and shortly afterwards several people working in the market fell very ill with a strange pneumonia,” noted an article published this week in the New Observer, a state-owned periodical.

The article suggests the shipment from Maine was a “Pandora’s box” that spread the virus around China. It also states the “American side has not owned up to the origins of the virus.”

And now it’s the cats fault.

Cat in Ingham County first in Michigan to contract COVID

The cat had close contact with its owners, who had a confirmed case of COVID-19 about a week before the cat became ill. The domestic shorthair cat was tested after it began to sneeze. The cat has recovered.

As of Oct. 18, there have been 257 confirmed cases of SARS-CoV-2 in animals throughout the United States, including 99 cats, since the start of the pandemic, according to state officials.

So now it’s Karma’s fault.
