Maybe, Just Maybe . . . This Time.

After two failed Auto-Migrations to a new server in the last two days, I feel more confident than anytime in the last two+ weeks that the problem is fixed.

I finally found a Godaddy tech who took charge and manually moved my blog over to a new server. After first checking to be sure that the new server didn’t have the same problem.

It took a couple of hours, and as of right now some photos are still migrating over. But it all should be in place in the next few hours.

So if the blog’s still up tomorrow evening, with no outages during the day, then I’ll be back in the blog business tomorrow night.

But as I always say, we’ll see how it goes.

    Hey Greg,

From the Godaddy Tech who got things up and running, a fellow traveler, I’m keeping a watchful eye over this blog for the next few days and….following it for my personal entertainment…LOL 🙂 If it goes down, you will hear from me but, I have no doubt we got it fixed right this time. You found someone who can and will help, I will use all of my magic if I have to ;-). Best of luck my friend and keep on putting on those miles!

Glad you are back. With all the trouble you had with GoDaddy I am surprised you are still with them. I would have given up on them and switched providers several days ago.

Even if I had really wanted to, everybody else is at least as bad or worse. And unless I wanted to lose all the old post and start over from scratch, I would need to ‘bundle’ up the site to be able to move it. This takes about an hour or so, and the site wouldn’t stay up long enough to do this.

So it was either keep trying to get Godaddy to fix it. Or just junk it.

Which believe me, I thought about several times.

Thanks for reading our blog. We appreciate the comment.
